  2. beauty = 5 (listen: b - y - eau - t - y)  this word has an added sound that isn't spelled
  3. through = 3 (listen: th - r - ough) yep, all those letters and just three sounds.
  4. mission = 4 (listen: m - i - ssi - on) the "ssi" are each one sound
  5. about = 4 (listen: a - b - ou - t) "ou" is one sound
  6. design = 5 (listen: d - e - s - i - gn) the "g" is silent
  7. lamb = 3 (listen: l - a - mb) the "b" is silent
  8. moose = 3 (listen: m - oo - se) the double "oo" is one sound, and the final "e" is silent
